Parents are encouraged to participate in the operation of the Centre through: election to the volunteer Board of Directors; active involvement in policy and decision making process; program participation; fundraising ventures; attendance at the Annual General Meeting; and regular ongoing communication with the program staff.
All parents/guardians whose children are enrolled in the daycare are members and are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors of the daycare. The Board of Directors consist of a minimum of seven members - elected parents, guardians and members of the community (20% community member limit). The Principal of Garden Avenue Public School and the Director of Sunnyside Garden Daycare sit on the Board as Ex Officio members.
